Overview
The Peer Review Systems Assistant role provides support for the Journals Editorial Department specifically assisting in the support and maintenance of Sage’s peer review system and various projects. This position will provide support, with moderate supervision, by assisting with the configuration and launch of peer review sites, providing editors with training resources and demonstrations, supporting editors and admins with system needs, and making required configuration changes to sites.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
The job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- The development of foundational knowledge of peer review system configuration and functionality
- Respond and resolve system requests and facilitate phone calls from editors.
- Be responsible for the training and support of journal editorial offices.
- Provide peer review system support to Sage staff.
- Correspond with contacts at ScholarOne on a regular basis for support and assistance.
- Work with journal editorial offices to configure sites, advising editors on standard methodology with manager support.
- Build and run reports.
- Provide support required to maintain Sage peer review systems through configuration updates.
- Assist with the execution of editorial and peer review projects.
- Support Peer Review Managers with projects or activities
- Provide backup administrative support to Journals Editorial
- Represent and act as ambassador for Sage externally by phone, e-mail, and in person.
Qualifications & Education
Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:
- A minimum of one year of general office experience
- Excellent English verbal and written business communication skills
- Computer skills, including solid understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
- Familiarity with ScholarOne Manuscripts is desirable
- Organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to adhere to directions, learn, and understand departmental procedures.
- Effective listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to set and follow through on priorities.
